“Sea of Hope” is a stunningly filmed action adventure documentary that follows ocean legend Sylvia Earle, renowned underwater National Geographic photographer Brian Skerry, and writer Max Kennedy. Joined by their crew of teenage aquanauts, the team embarks on a year-long quest to deploy science and photography to inspire President Obama to establish new Blue Parks to protect essential habitats across an unseen American wilderness.
Thanks to our close relationship with Shedd Aquarium, Surfrider Chicago will be in attendance at this event, there to answer questions, introduce ourselves to those who might not know us, and show solidarity with the film’s core message: Now is the time to protect our oceans, as they are under unprecedented assault in every way. There’ll be plenty of activity and chances to interact both before and after the screening, plus a panel presentation.
The 8th annual ONE EARTH FILM FESTIVAL will be screening 31 new releases from March 1 -10, at various locations. This film is free, but reservations are recommended. For the A-Z listing of all titles, go here.
